I'm retired, and unless I have a specific appointment, I get up whenever I wake up, and that depends on how late I stayed up the night before

Approximately, but as retirees we're delightfully flexible most all the time.

If I go to bed later, I will wake up later.

It is said that you should always wake up at the same time. Never has worked for me.
