I love a fire roaring while making soup, baking, and reading. I have been known to turn on air conditioning so we could have a short fire.

I have a gas fireplace I use for auxiliary heat. There is a second fireplace in my home that will eventually be converted. I have a firepit outside. They bring me comfort and peace..

I love my gas log fireplace. On cold gloomy days nothing makes me happier than the warmth and watching the beautiful flame's.

My house has two fireplaces. One gas and one traditional. I grew up with a fireplace, so I LOVE a roaring fire on a snowy night. Unfortunately, my wife is allergic to woodsmoke, especially pine. So - no fire or Christmas tree for us. (I mean swell up allergic!) We do, however, use the gas FP.

Yes. It's gas w/remote control. It kept most of the house warm while electricity was out for days (we're between Houston & Galveston).

We love our wood burning stove fireplace especially in the early morning when it is cold and I make breakfast.

I have one but we put a Candle Candelabra in it instead of wood. It looks good and doesn't require the damper open sucking heat out when the fire dies down

We have an electric one that gives off a little heat but we can also just have the "flames" on for ambience.

Actually, I HAVE one. But due to pollution restrictions, I can't use it. Would like to, at least occasionally. Oh well.

Chose not to put a fireplace in our country retirement home to avoid sooty mess and higher insurance rates. Absolutely right decision.

Fireplaces are bad for your lungs. Tiny particles of soot escape into the air & get into your home & lungs.

We have outdoor bonfires burning limbs and woody debris from our acreage. We share firewood with neighbors.

My rental condo didn't come with a fireplace and I also feel they suck more heat out than they provide to a room.
