I am an instructor of information technology and cybersecurity. I feel there is value in this tool when used ethically and by experts who can use what is generated with an understanding of the risks. I better know if the code it generates is correct and secure.

Rent is out of control. Without common sense local regulations and legislation-- more and more will become homeless

AI is dangerous, very vulnerable to Misinformation and just spitting it back out. AI is NOT creative, real writers are creative. AI just re-arranges the factoids available to it. Teachers are alarmed that papers submitted by students might not be their work, just ChatGTP garbage.

We need to use our own brains, our own creativity, we are relying on everything else to do the work for us, making us lazy and less useful. Therefore, Outdating ourselves, outdating people in general. Pretty soon people will be not needed because there are AIs to do the work in place of us!

Just another form of cheating. If you are not smart enough to write your own papers, you are not qualified for the job.

Resign. We should expect and demand the highest integrity, especially for our law enforcement people. How can they - he - credibly issue tickets, etc., when he himself has lied in order to get to where he is.

Exactly. This hiring freeze will negatively affect forecasters, fire mitigators, et al. It is a terrible decision.
