Do you think taxpayer money should be used for research involving animal testing?

I' an animal lover, but this is just another plea to people's hearts to take their $$ and use it for whatever purpose. If the county/city were to vote to raise the gas/alcohol/cigarette tax in order that everyone shares in the pain - and not just property owners - I would vote for such a tax!
