No, too much work!

It's far too much effort to chop down a tree from the forest, especially when there's a place to buy a tree on every other street corner this time of year!

I have in the past, and it was fun, and I love the smell of a live, healthy tree, but it is a lot of trouble. I have a beautiful artificial tree now that I love.

Absolutely, do not do this. It's ridiculous if you want to slow people down. Put in speed bumps but do not impede traffic and it looks disgusting. It looks stupid. You've already ruined enough streets in this town for bicyclers no more. Do no more use speed bumps if you want to slow people down
