There's no evidence it's more severe.
The new strain hasn't shown to cause more severe illness or higher mortality. The new strain hasn't shown to be resistant to the vaccine either.

I'm doing all I can to avoid the virus as it is. At this point, worrying is a waste of emotion. BTW, I also disagree with the reason that I am forced to choose here.
