Want to see what the new offense will look like.

Passing scheme and how the running game looks will be what's meaningful. Linebacker may be as big an issue, but how they fair against our offense isn't necessarily indicative of performance against other teams.

Theoretically the defense will be further along, but I want to see where Riley is taking the bus.

Interested in seeing solid consistency on both sides of the ball.

This always seems more difficult for a new system and for it to jell quickly. I want to see a great running game develop and an assortment of QBs to look at. Is Nabity (splg?) going to break into the rotation? And most importantly... will they run on first down? If not, it will be a long season.

I just can't wait to see how our D does in a simplified system that turns them loose. I think it will be a good thing

It's obvious how much impact the defense can have, just look back at the 2009 Huskers. The offense was horrible, but the defense nearly won us the conference championship.

If your defense is so good they score more consistently than an offense, things are good...Playstation Coaching 101

A great defense can save the game for an not so great offense. stop the other guy from scoring, and you win, win, win.

I am excited about the development of the quarterbacks, but I want to see a defense that doesn't suffer blowout losses.

Qb. Oline. Offense could be very good. Back 7 on d should be good Concerns at rb depth and unknowns on interiour d line.

With their schedule, they might be able to make it this year.

They are as much a potential playoff team as Arizona State and Indiana were last year. There is no harm is fans dreaming big. A team with a recent history like Nebraska is going to put it together this year. Why not the Huskers?

Just wishful thinking but I believe the talent is there. We will need a few breaks but it is possible.

They have a schedule that gets to the year 3 Matt Rhule 10 wins. If they can hang with Penn St. then they could be in the conversation as a 10-2, 11-1 team.

So tired of delusional preseason talk. How about a winning conference record and a bowl win.

NU has not been able to recruit top notch players. The media has led fans to believe that 3 star players can be molded into 4 and 5 stars. That dog don’t hunt?

We simply don't have the level of talent needed to reach the playoff. Achieving more wins that last year is a more realistic goal.

Anything can happen, but up until now, Rhule hasn't shown that he can get the job done. I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't by the hype. Show me on the field.

They haven’t done anything on the field to warrant that expectation. But there is nothing wrong with the team setting it as a goal and striving to reach that goal.

Immanuel Kant would say no, but he had a very strict definition of reason. I can only imagine him pooh-poohing the Huskers because Rhule is compulsed to pass the ball on clear running downs. Afraid to actually hand the ball to the fullback on 3rd and 1. And instead is in the shotgun. NO THEY KANT!

Thry’ll be better this year, but I think 9-3 or 8-4 are likely which keeps them out of contention this year. My hope is that by year 4 under Rhule will finally get them ibto the playoff picture

They need to prove they belong. Still to ,many players on the squad that played on bad teams and don't know how to win yet.

Let's consider a few "bigger" bowl game victories first.... way to early!
