I don't think the ads were ever as iconic as the brand had hoped them to be. After a while they became tired and unimaginative.
Reply ReplyThese Dos Equis commercials got stale after a while. They were like the talking chihuahua for Taco Bell. This "most interesting fan" ad is just more of the same.
Reply ReplyThe Most Interesting Man in the World was fun, but the company can't be blamed for wanting to put some distance between itself and a raging internet meme. I'm sure they'll come up with something equally iconic.
Reply ReplyThe old most interesting man in the world was not even interesting enough for most people to have even heard of him. It would have been better to pick public figure.
Reply ReplyI was not even aware of the Most Interesting Man in the World until after he retired. My memories of the original man and the campaign is patchy at best. I don't drink Dos Equis anyway.
Reply ReplyThe most interesting man is still interesting! Especially now that he looks like a rugged Michael Phelps.

It feels strange to change the most interesting man in the world, if only because he's ingrained as a meme on the internet.
ReplyThe new Most Interesting Man just isn't as good as the old one. He doesn't seem as suave or debonaire and is a bit goofy looking. He Just doesn't sell the role as well as the old one.
ReplyYes, the old Most Interesting Man in the World has a sense class and intrigue that the new actors don't have. The original actor, if I saw him walking down the street, would embody those qualities.
Replybring the original back...he's the icon!
