Never hear them in saline county. I'm told they are not supposed to be heard indoors, which is stupid. I'm from Oklahoma and you can definitely hear them indoors so you can get to shelter.

In defense of the sirens I must add I have triple window pane glass & am also hearing impaired using hearing aids....I could hear the somewhat whine of the siren but knew they were going off as my dogs were going nuts!
