What's the hurry? With inflation the way it is, it won't matter if we get a refund or have to pay. LGB/FJB

Should Missouri eliminate its sales tax on groceries?

Because with prices going up on everything else thanks to Mr. Biden we need a break . We pay enough as it is now. So we don't need to pay more sales tax on food. People are having a hard time already.

We should NOT be taxed on essential needs, this means living should not be taxed. We should tax non essential items. That's why we struggle. It almost gives us a break.

A core necessity shouldn't be taxed. Alternatively, you could limit the tax to the wealthy. Removing this tax will help the poor and struggling households.

This would be a good thing, but counties and cities would have to follow suit, to make it work. The out the door tax, for most cities, is about 4.2%. That includes state, county, and city taxes. Missouri can be better than that.

Many states don't have sales tax on food or prescription drugs. Missouri should step up to that higher standard. And the counties and cities should also step up to that standard as well. Most of us currently pay about 4.75% on food, and 7.75% for taxable items, look at your next grocery receipt.

Many states don't have tax on food, or prescription drugs. I am sad to say, that most of those states, are liberal. One of the few things liberal states do, that is better.

Should Missouri's gas tax hike be repealed?

I don't object to the Gas Tax. I feel we need the Gas Tax. I object to the illegal way it happened. Let the citizens approve it.

anyone voting to repeal this must not be using the roads much, haven't had a tire busted from a pothole, or had to wait 24 hours for a road plow to get to you, or drive an hour around a closed road. I will gladly pay my $15 per year extra - way cheaper than the damage being done to cars.
