Superhero movies are long on special effects and non-stop thrills, but short on character development, dialog, and nuance. The passage of time will not be kind to Antman movies.

I love Scorsese, he's one of my all-time favorite directors. But, I strongly disagree on this one. Some of my favorite movie-going experiences have been cheering with audiences during superhero films.

Joaquin Phoenix followed two legendary performances from Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger and somehow created an equally compelling and unique take on the character. He deserves an Oscar.
