This team will move into a new direction under Brian. He has an opportunity to show how good he is at his job on a larger scale and bulk up his resume for a future head coaching position (but, likely not at Iowa). He knows exactly what Kirk wants from the offense, but he also has the opportunity to open up the playbook. If any offensive coordinator can get in the ear of Kirk, it's Brian so we may see a much improved & aggressive game plan. Show Less

Under Kirk Ferentz there has always been offensive inconsistencies whether it was under Ken O'Keefe or Greg Davis. It might be a little more smooth sailing since Brian Ferentz knows Kirk so well, but Brian had some influence over this offense and it was flat out brutal over the past few years. They should have hired someone from the outside. Show Less

Because Iowa just can't get the talent at the skill positions to be really effective on offense, therefore you have to play the short-gains game.
