I think you have a valid point here but are personal cell phones NEEDED to accomplish this?
There are so many families who can't afford to pay for lunches whether it is hot or cold. I think this is going to be so helpful. ❤️

Many kids go without breakfast it's so important to have that first meal of the day for fueling their brains helping them learn more

Yes, for the most part. There are a few instances where they should be allowed such as the downloading of apps that help with, say, science classes and so forth. Otherwise, they are a huge distraction.

If the family needs to contact the child in an emergency, they can call the school and the school can relay the message to the child. It worked for me in the 60's and 70's, it can work now too.

Technology is such a major part of our lives that none of us can escape it. It comes with responsibility and accountability which seems to be the hardest part of the equation. No doubt they can be a distraction but safety and convenience play a bigger part in my opinion.

Kids need to be focused on school not their phone s!
ReplyIt is a distraction!
ReplyKids spend way too much time on phones. They need to concentrate on reading, writing and arithment which schools need to go back to teaching. I believe social media has harmed our children.
ReplyObviously, phones are addictive and kids having them in the classroom - when they should be paying attention to what is being taught - will make them stupid!! Many are slaves to their phones and they are a major distraction in classrooms.
