Bike riders have very little respect for the traffic laws. As a driver around Bend every day, it's a challenge to avoid bikes that disregard the laws of the road. I think that all bikes should be licensed to pay for bike lanes and cited for traffic violations.

All my life the city has flexed on how fast growing Bend is, yet they've never done anything to increase road sizes, add any bipasses or cut throughs. Bike riding is commendable, but a seemingly tiny minority routinely does it.

Bend traffic is already out of control, adding more bikes and lanes compounds the issue, also bike riders pay no fees to provide road maintenance, and many on sidewalks and not paying attention to traffic.

Why have more bike lanes when most of the bikers seem to be on the sidewalks anyway?

They tend to ride in the middle of the road anyways.
