You have to look at input versus output, and then compare to other program averages. Recruit rankings are modest at Iowa, but NFL production ranks high. Also, you have to pay ppl more than what their actually worth in order to keep them at Iowa. Good move.
Reply1) Nobody on the staff is around the players more than Doyle. 2) NFL Former Hawks return home to train in IC because of this man and his regimen. 3) He's been there for 18 years. 4) Player development is Iowa's bread and butter. We're turning walk ons into NFL stars. That begins with S&C.
ReplyPlayer development is critical to Iowa's success. The Hawks get mostly two-star and three-star recruits that the staff develops and molds into teams that are competitive with five-star teams.
ReplyFirst off, forget the idiots who started this on ESPN. The question is, where would the Iowa program be *without* Mr. Doyle and his program. ISU, that's what. I'm pro-capitalist, and whatever the market will bear, so be it. If anything, he's probably under paid.
Replyhe is a huge part of Iowa success, and helps put Hawks that are not 4 Star recruits on the field in the Big Ten, and then on to the NFL. He is, for sure , worth it!
ReplyCoach Doyle would get paid that and then some if he were to ever leave. He is one of the main reasons Iowa has been able to have the success they have had with the level of recruits they can attract. Nothing but respect for Coach Doyle and I hope he stays another 20 years!
ReplyDoyle is much more than simply a strength and conditioning coach. He's essentially an Associate Head Coach...he plays a big role in molding these young men in all facets of their lives. "Experts" outside the Iowa program wouldn't know that...or understand it, as most programs don't have such a guy.
ReplyBecause of who he has to work with. Lets face it, he doesn't see the 5 and 4 star recruits. I am surprised he hasn't been hired away years ago.
ReplyBecause he turn 2-stars and walk-ons into draft picks. Because slow tight ends become all-conference tackles. Because Iowa has reputation of hard-nosed and physical. Because that last drive in the B1G championship game is actually the reason. Who's heard of 9 minute drives?!!! And D Howard is a putz
ReplyWhat is too much? for somebody on the same job for 18 years. There have been multiple performance bonuses as well as cost of living. Iowa cannot consistently keep up with the Joneses (Bama, tOSU, etc) when it comes to recruiting. That means building em up and coaching em up. Nuff said
ReplyHe is one huge reason Iowa can bring in players that are not ready to play D-1 football and he takes one player at a time and takes them to the strength and healthy way to get more out of players than any other coach has/can. He deserves every nickel he is paid!
ReplyAll you have to do is listen to/read what his former players have to say about him and you can tell what he means to them and to the program. Iowa makes the most out of the young men they get and Coach Doyle is a big part of that.
ReplyHe deserves it. In fact, I think this position should be closer to what Doyle makes than it is currently. These strength/conditioning coaches work with these athletes more than any other coach and how they prepare them in the weight room makes a huge difference on the field.
ReplyI do but I go rounds w/ my guy. Ever since China stopped taking our recycling he stopped doing it. Idk if all that is real, I have noticed that our garbage guy just loads both cans into the same dump bin & it’s not sorted. So that’s really disturbing. Every little bit helps I feel. I rec. everything
ReplyI do what I can but live in an area where they don't have it. Still I save bottles and cardboard to take to recycling. I cook from scratch so don't really have cans.
ReplyWe pay by the pound for certain items so why not pay less and recycle - it's the right thing to do for me and the environment.
ReplyI like to help the environment. I even pick up cans & bottles near my car in parking lots.
ReplyAlthough I can only hope that it's useful because there is no proof that what is supposedly sent to the recyclers they actually carry through. You always hear about it not being done.
We take our own garbage to the dump and pay by the pound. Recycling is free so the more we recycle the less we have to pay.
ReplyIt's not bogus I just do not have a place to drop it off in my area - if it's not close by I'm lazy and won't go out of my way (I'm a sad case).
ReplyI do what I can with cardboard and such but there is no recycling program where I live
ReplyMy local recycling company charges me to recycle, even though they're already making money on recycling that which people turn in to them.
