The Hawkeyes will hold a big advantage in the Big Ten West with a victory over the Badgers. Northwestern is starting to find their groove and that loss is looking less bad. The Bison lost their first game, but have a proven ability to beat D-I teams. A good bowl game and the Big Ten West is in their reach. Show Less

The Gophers had poor coaching in this game. Despite averaging 4.7 yards per carry between Minnesota's RB's Shannon Brooks and Rodney Smith, Minnesota decided to throw 33 times. However, It was promising to see a defense who was shredded by QB Mitch Leidner last year (and a good Iowa defense) dominate in the pass defense Saturday. They held Leidner to a 39 percent pass completion percentage. But, the run defense still has room to improve. Show Less

I admit they did look better against Minnesota, I am not convinced that their defense will be good enough to compete with top-tier teams like Wisconsin and Michigan at this point.

This team still has a lot of talent from last year's team 12-0 team. They are inexperienced in some key areas, but like many of Kirk Ferentz-led teams, they will get better with each game. They just need to learn from last few games, but forget about them at the same time. One game at a time and it starts with Minnesota! Show Less

This team is heartless and the coaching staff is not only heartless as well but seem to be unable to put together game plans that make any sense or make in game adjustments.

Ferenz and his staff are unable or unwilling to make in-game adjustments. When you are having trouble stopping the run; put 8 or 9 guys in the box. If the other team is blitzing on 3rd downs; run some screens or do a roll-out. Terrible coaching.

We are who we are this week. Five games in and both the O and D-lines are way way underperforming. Nope...we'll struggle all year it seems.

There is no chemistry this year. All facets of the games are under performing including the coaching staff. The offensive line and defensive line have been pushed around and bullied in all five of the Hawkeyes games. Slim chance we go 7-5. More likely the Hawkeyes will be 5-7.

"Turn-around" implies fixable. Stupid penalties, bad schemes, strategies and plays...yes. 3 of 4 DB's struggling to cover, tackle and play the ball + unathletic OLB's + out-toughed, over-powered lines + poor fundamentals & techinique...too much bad to fix. Best case, 6-6. Likely, 4-8.
