Columbia has the resources; the homeless do not want to play by the rules in homeless shelters.

More resources attract more homeless. Just ask San Fransisco. More resources = more homeless.

They won't stay in the tax payer shelters, they should be cleaning up the grounds that they polluted. instead of tax payers paying for it. they will continue to break rules/laws as long as there's no consequences...

We have plenty of resources for homeless people is the thing is they need to use it the right way not the wrong way We need to get them off the streets because we are some of us are afraid at night and day if we get a little bit more resource source for them the house and work

You can't help people who aren't willing to help themselves. Drugs, mental illness, etc are the problem, not enough 'free stuff' from the tax payer.

I just realized that I lived in a town full of ostriches! I guess we didn't learn anything from California . So this is what's going to eventually happen from us letting this problem fester for decades. Drug and crime rate is going to go up exponentially not enough room in the local jail.

Make Narcan illegal. That would solve some of the problems.

Homelessness is more than just not having a place to live. Its a horrible feeling. Unless u've experienced it for urself, you'll never know ehat being homeless truly means

Homelessness is a spectrum. We would have fewer unsheltered folks if we had more shelter beds and more affordable housing. There is literally no where for these folks to go right now, this week even. If requests to deliver a dumpster and handwashing stations, creek trash would have been a nonissue.

Because we don't have enough help for our homeless. Not every person living on the streets has a drug addiction. Many are families. The cost for rent in Columbia is outrageous!!! No wonder we have families living in the woods and under bridges! Better get it together Columbia!!!

I think we have a new mayor that doesn't like homeless people and wants to run them out of here. The reality of things are that if people would stop and think 90% of us are 1/2 checks from being there ourselves. Quit picking on the homeless and do something about the one's out there that want help.

I've got an idea. Let's tax those, who work and strive to take care of themselves and their families, and give that tax money, to those who won't work.

Then you are not managing your money correctly.

It is probably the most cost effective method of waste collection. And when it comes to spending taxpayer money, how can anyone argue with a proven system that costs significantly less in the long run. The only negatives to them are people who can't understand them.

Yes, it just makes sense. It's 2023 and modern day trash collection techniques have changed. I hate self checkout, but that's the direction things are going nowadays. Get with the times or be lost in the past!!

Eyesores that will make our neighborhoods look trashy and cost jobs for minority men.

No one wants that gross and dangerous job, slinging bags. There is no need to make this a racist or social issue, it's picking up the trash. At taxpayer expense. Doing so in a cost effective manner. Doh!

The citizens of Columbia voted this down before. I would think that the city would put it to a vote of the people again instead of deciding for us.

That election was rigged with heavily biased wording. A mistake the voters should never allow to happen again. That bordered on election fraud in the eyes of some. An attempt at voter manipulation, for sure.

The citizens of Columbia voted against roll carts, yet the city manages to disregard them.

That was a very poorly worded election, seemingly purposely done. And now that people realize they were fooled, they will actually read the ballots closer.

Space is limited and they will be seen all over Columbia in front yards. Ugly, and hard to roll.

The majority of homeowners will bring them in. Deal with exceptions when they come up IMO.

We had them while living in Flagstaff, Arizona. More snow there than here, and it was no big deal, you adapt.
