In a world of audacious tailgate, beer and babe songs, they stand out for their more subtle approach. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney met at a party in Nashville and began working together soon after. Miranda wrote or co-wrote half of the 16 tracks on Platinum, which also includes appearances from Carrie Underwood, The Time Jumpers and Little Big Town. Aside from winning CMA Entertainer of the Year three times and ACM Entertainer of the year twice (including this year), Strait has also had 60 number-one hits, was named Artist of the Decade by the ACM, and was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
