5 day weeks need to be maintained until attendance rates are well above 90% and yearly gains are shown on testing.

In many families, the only time a youngster can get a break from the fussing and fighting at home is when they are in school. Granted they may not apply themselves to learning but it does provide a needed break from their disfunctional home life.
