Although it IS one way for natural selection to work, I don't want to have to pay for the healthcare of some numbnut who insists on riding without a helmet. And, eventually, I would have to. :-(

absolutely. Too many government intrusions into a person's life. The responsibility for safety belongs with the person, NOT the government.
