Yes, I remember going to the cemetery on Decoration Day to place a flag and flowers on family graves.
ReplyMay 5th, 1868..General John Logan.. It was proclaimed for the Soldiers who died during the American Civil War.. I do not know the date it became Memorial Day?? I was Navy..
