In the 70’s and early 80’s interest rates were in the double figures. If you do not have the money to attend college but are able to borrow why should you not pay it back. I borrowed the money on a teacher’s salary and paid it back. My spouse also did the same.

I believed that ONLY the interest payments should be forgiven with NO future interest payments applied...!!! Therefore, it should be only an interest free loan. There should be a requirement to pay back the principal ONLY...!!!
