Obviously. We both still have a parent alive, and there are some important responsibilities.
Reply ReplyBut I have friends he does not. He is a home body. But all my friends like him.
Reply ReplySome members of family come first but I won't gamble my life for many of them. However I have many friends that are more like family and show up faster than any family member.
Reply Replyi said family because some of my friends are my chosen family and some of my family are almost frenameys
Reply ReplyI've always been close to my family, so second to my household they do come first.
Reply ReplyIt kind of depends on who the family & friends are, but for the most part, my husband, mother, nephew, sister, & in-laws qlways come first. After that, it would be certain friends, & then the rest of my family.
Reply ReplyIn my family, yes. But I do know of some where family members have become estranged, and friends are more like family than relatives.
Reply ReplyBecause family is always family. Friends can come and go but your family is forever.
Reply ReplyThis is a hard one. I have friends who are like family. Some I've literally known just as long. My best friend and I use to crawl up and down the sidewalk together before we could walk. We are now in our 50's.
Reply ReplyTheir are people that hopefully, one or more would be there for you if you needed them. I think that’s true in most families, but for some, the parent says- you’re grown up- take care of it your self. And siblings who also take that same attitude, despite all the sacrifices you have made for them.
Reply ReplyI think some friend sare like family but family does not end but friends do so family before friends.
Reply ReplyBlood is thicker than water. I have a few close friends; but I have lots of family.
Reply ReplyFYI the full line is "blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." It literally means family comes second :)
SO HAPPY THAT MY FAMILY DOESN'T HAVE MY ADDRESS. YOU CAN TELL A FRIEND NO! FAMILY DOESN'T UNDERSTAND NO. FAMILY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT NO MEANE
ReplyIt depends on the commitment.
ReplyUnless referring to my spouse and children, I say friends bc I don't have much for family to even say they come first.
ReplyMy friends ARE my family.
ReplyDepends on the family.
ReplyYou can choose your friends, you can't choose your family. Yet sometimes your family is a friend- and those family members and friends come first.
Replybecause my friends are my choice and our thought are very close to each other,so I and my friends all would get together but my family had been chosen not by me!
ReplyFriends are family to some people. My parents are dead. My sister and i are estranged. I adore my cousins but we aren't close. I spend Christmas with an old friend, and Thanksgiving with a group (not this year, of course).
ReplyI've had more loyalty come from my friends than from my own family.
ReplyYou can’t chose your family so i owe them no loyalty- my dad is toxic. But friends i chose for a reason
ReplyFriends are the family I choose.
