A group of friends started talking the benefits of the NIT before Iowa went on the late season run. We still think it will have a long term benefit...except obviously for Peter Jok.

This team needs the upscale competition. Hang an NIT banner, today, hang an NCAA banner tomorrow

A short stay in the Big Dance would really get them thirsty for a longer run next year. Plus a huge boost in their young confidence!

Get the experience of the big tournament so in the coming years it won't seem like such a big stage

ISU doesn't offer any upside. Lose, it's a bad loss. Win, it's just a mediocre team that Iowa beat.

It just isn't worth for Iowa to play them home and home. Maybe 2/3 years or something but we need to get a good matchup every few years

I'd rather win/lose to a top 25 to middle of the road power 5 in a recruitment hotbed than ISU. Iowa gets no benefit out of playing them, the excuse that it helps the state is a joke. What do hawks gain

Although I would be more in favor of playing it a couple times every 3/4 years instead of getting rid of it altogether

Mainly because I don't particularly like the teams they're playing against.

Media has been down on the BIG all year. Shows how good Iowa really was this year.

I get sick of the talking heads swaying the image of everything. Fact check them on predictions. All terrible!!
