No, for one thing what they are doing is morally wrong and isn't fair to Bryant who has earned his spot on the big league team hitting .425 with nine home runs and 15 RBI this spring. It could also be detrimental to the Cubs this season having to go a little while without Bryant's bat. They could lose games because of it.

If you're the Cubs, you protect the service time of your players. The Giants did the same thing with Buster Posey and he still got his money before free agency. Bryant will too, as long as he performs to his potential.
ReplyNormally..i'd vote NO every time..but since baseball has real RANDOM rules ("....but if Bryant spends 12 days in the minors to start the 2015 season, the Cubs will gain an EXTRA YEAR until he is eligible for free agency..)..I guess they can wait the two weeks. If it goes longer...that's just dumb!
