At reed mkt and 3rd its already common to take 3 cycles of light changes to make it through. This will make it so people feel have to go slower contributing to the delay that already exists because of poorly planned infrastructure
Reply ReplyAll it is going to do overall, is produce more revenue and cause insurance rates of individuals to go up. It takes the real time needed judgment out of the equation by an officer. Clearly, infractions happen over small nuances or when in the dilemma zone. Put a big sign up would have the same effect
Reply ReplyRelying on technology to do the job of officers is not efficient reason for 2.3 million dollar project ,especially. When we just put more officers on the ground the last year. What was the need for more officers?.
Reply ReplyBecause it boost the pockets of the city, and takes from the people. It will not reduce car accidents that much, it's only for revenue for the politicians. And it's been proven that they don't work that great. This is just another Ponzi scheme to collect money from the public to line there pockets.
Reply ReplyCharlie Kirk was a man of faith and gave his very life for the values I stand for. He was a voice heard around the world
Reply ReplyHe was a racist, white supremacist, and very divisive figure. The political violence that ended his lift is a terrible thing but it’s something he helped foment. This is the most ridiculous idea I can imagine.
Reply ReplyI never heard of this guy before he was murdered, but it looks like he had a track record of saying awful things, and fomented the conditions in society that led to his demise. That's very tragic, but there are other people more deserving of a day.
Reply ReplyIrony: “It's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year, so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights…” Charlie Kirk 2023
Reply ReplyThough this is a tragic incident and a terrible time of violence in our country, Mr. Kirk was not an elected official. We should honor his family and respect them in many ways and I certainly have sympathy for his family. But this does not warrant aday in Oregon devoted to his name or his politics.
Reply ReplyA highly partisan figure in American politics should never be given a day of observance for any reason. It should be acknowledge that violence is not acceptable in any form for any reason, but it should not be honored and given Publicity because of it.
Reply ReplyHe was not a government figure, and while I don’t condone the violence that took his life, he called on his supporters to bail out others that committed violence against elected government officials.
Reply ReplyThis guy was homophobic, racist, and anti women’s rights. While I think his murder is wrong, he is not a hero. He encouraged hatred towards people he didn’t agree with their lifestyles in his “teachings”. I don’t think Jesus would support him…he preached love for everyone!
Reply ReplyWe didn't create a Melissa Hortmann day and she was a good person. Charlie Kirk's rhetoric was about racism, sexism, mysoginism, and divisiveness. He was not a good person and represented everything that was NOT Christian.
Reply ReplySure! Let's give kudos to the shooter! NOT! What about the 5 officers who just got shot in Pennsylvania? Should we have a day for that too?? Absolutely NOT necessary.
