I would be more confident if society would enhance school safety by banning assault weapons. It should be a multi-pronged approach: increased funding for woefully underfunded mental health services; enhanced school safety; assault weapons ban. It works only with an integrated effort.
It represents the heart of Sisters that has always been a western town with logging , cows and horses . we also have one of the most popular rodeos on the west coast Sisters Rodeo !
It’s befitting of our culture, our way of life. The Sisters Rodeo has made this town prosper..There is no “danger” putting this on the round about, that’s a silly reason to not want it there.
I live in Bend where we have many roundabouts, where we have various artwork, and I've not seen a situation where I feel drivers were distracted, even in our high traffic roundabouts. In my opinion that's a red herring. I think the statue would be an asset to Sisters promoting its history.
