There were legitimate Teams left out in TCU and Baylor, at least on paper. I think 4 will be a little thin if you have 5 or more unbeaten Power 5 Teams.

ReplyGoing to eight dilutes the regular season. How many years have there been more than three teams go undefeated? How many times have there been more than 6 even discussed as being the best in the country over an entire season?
ReplyDoesn't matter what kind of playoff or rating system is in place there will always be controversy from fans & writers who think #5 or #17 or #33 got screwed and left out of the mix. Any more teams involved will take a toll on the regular season and then the extended season. Not every kid goes on to the NFL and many are in fact students.
