I have gone to the Spring game the last 20 years. I always take my disabled friend, who can afford the $10 ticket. This year we will not be going. I tried 53 times to phone in and could not get in. No one should be allowed to purchase a large quantity of tickets. The FROST has MELTED for us.
Reply ReplyAllowing season ticket holders to grab 20 -40 tickets at a pop is ridiculous. If you want to give them first dibs, limit them to 6-8 and let other people have a fighting chance at taking their family
Reply ReplyI remember when the game was free and I would travel from California to watch them play. I think they need to charge $10 at the entry gates for all spectators. Stubhub tix for $500 is CRAZY.
Reply ReplyI agree, that is absolutely stupid, and it is a good argument against those season ticket types that charge way too much for tickets.
No problem with giving season ticket holders an opportunity to buy some early, but 60K was excessive and they obviously didn't intend to go based on the amount that are now on Stubhub for $100+.
Reply ReplyThere should be a limit on how many tickets can be bought at a time. Ridiculous what scalpers are doing to this event!
Reply Replysome individuals were allowed to buy mass numbers of tickets and the average fan was shut out. now they are available for purchase at bend over prices on the net.
Reply Replybig companies and other scalpers who buy up them all to flip for a profit are greedy chumps
Reply ReplyThe U of N previously had a policy that permitted them to deny a season ticket holder’s right to purchase season tickets if they were caught scalping . A 20 Tx limit encourages scalping! Yuck!
Reply ReplyAllowing the season ticket holders to buy 20 tickets a piece was a little bit ridiculous. The spring game WAS a great opportunity for young parents to bring small children without major expense.
Reply ReplyThe spring game ticket sales method is geared to the wealthy. No season ticket holder should be able to buy 20 tickets at the expense of other loyal fans. AD should have realized the demand would be high. AD earns an F
Reply ReplyGave no fair shot to everyone but scalpers to get tix was excited to take kids but not for $50 a ticket
Reply ReplyI am a retiree and have a fixed income. The Spring game is the only game I can afford during season. By the time a logged on the web site on Wednesday they were gone.
Reply ReplyBonanza for scalpers alright. Had to resort to Stubhub for $60 tickets and it appears I got by cheap compared to the $600+ dollar tickets out there.
Reply ReplyShould have had all tickets go on sale at the same time. Not fair to those that can't afford the luxuries of Season Tickets.
Reply ReplyThis is a time for the families that normally in this new world can not afford regular game tickets. Now it's a racket. Come on Nebraska. Mr Moos... where are you?
Reply ReplyI can see Season Ticket holders getting fist right to buy. But it should have been limited to the number of season tickets purchased. I am an alumni of UNL. I support UNL financially, and through other means. I live out of state so am not a season ticket holder. It's unfortunate how this was handled
Reply ReplyThere should have been a cap on the amount of tickets you could buy, no matter if you had season tickets or not. Some guy bought 84 tickets at once for out of state friends and family.
Reply ReplyNU Tix office should have limited the number of spring game tickets to season ticket holders to a much lower number. All the hype has been built up and then the "common" person doesn't get the chance
Reply ReplyI don't think it was fair to non-season ticket holders. 57,000 were sold the first day. I purchased w/in 1 min of sales on 2/7/18 and the best I got were south end zone nose bleeds. Revenue the issue?
Reply ReplyI really have no problem with the amount of 20, as long as there was a caveat of no scalping. Should have worked something with StubHub to prevent the price gouging.
Reply ReplySpring game tickets should not show up on Stub Hub or other ticket sales. This game is for the fans that cant afford normal rated tickets. It should be against the law to be able to hike tickets to $600 for a $10 dollar ticket... I feel that 6 or 8 should be the limit for anyone.
Reply ReplyUnderstand Season Ticket Holders should get an advantage but 20 tickets seems excessive it encourages hoarding for scalping purposes. Probably should have been like a max of 6
Reply Reply
Season ticket holders donate and deserve first try. Maybe reduce to max purchase to 10 though
ReplyIf you pay for season tickets and have to pony up.the donation then yes they should get first crack however, it should only be limited to the number of seats you have.
ReplyI agree with some of the commits. Season ticket holders do pay a premium for their tickets so why shouldn't we get first crack at the spring game.
Replybut reduce the max purchase to 10 a day...this way they get first dibs but then can get more if needed on the same day as everyone else.
