Football is driving all the conference realignment, for good and bad. It is tearing apart conferences who are traditionally basketball oriented and forcing them to expand into geographic areas that have little in common with their core schools. Football is moving towards mega conferences.

So many schools rely on money and need other schools from higher populated areas to make that work from attendance to tv ratings, etc. Unless the currently conferences allow cross-over power conference games it probably won't work.

although football is money generator, the academic side and geographic similarities will still play major roles.

The RB is already deep. Getting Brown would have been simply getting an extra cherry on an already loaded sundae.

My crystal ball is in the shop, but I really wanna say yes to this. He's a shoo-in for the Illini, but I gather that Glenn & Matt went hard in this visit. Hopefully, it was enough to convince him on Lincoln.
