Boone County is still seeing coronavirus infection rates that health experts say represent a high level of community transmission of the virus. Teachers and other school workers have not yet been vaccinated against the virus.

We adopted a plan in July, based on expert health advice, with specific community case thresholds determining certain formats of attendance. We now have abandoned that plan. Our local count exceeds the threshold for a hybrid return for highschool by 1.5x. We lack staffing to cover certain illness

Putting Grandparents at risk due to increased daycare requirements, while protecting teachers is not an answer.
