Reply ReplyThe "referees" butchered the calls in that game worse than you have butchered the english language...case closed.
Lions act like one play decided the game. The NFL even told the Cowboys they missed AT LEAST seven calls against the Lions. That call didn't make stafford fumble twice on the last drive. That play didn't limit you to only scoring 3 points in the second half. Refs were horrible all game just get over it and come back better next year. You have all the tools to succeed again Lions fans. Just get a better run game to provide better balance. You have two scat backs that can catch the football, you need someone that can run on first and second down and get decent yardage and you will be fine.
Reply ReplyThere are calls missed every game, and this one was no different. The refs missed five easy calls in favor of the Lions. 1) Hands to face by Pettigrew on same play. 2) Roughing punter 2) Fair catch interference 3) Offensive PI call on Terrance Williams 4) Dez Bryant tackled on route, ended up with sack and eventual missed FG Cowboys fought against the refs for 3 quarters and came out on top. Lions fans whine for two questionable plays.
Reply ReplyThe receiver had his hand on his face mask so he couldn't turn around. The Dez thing is a penalty that is not mantatory. They chose not to throw a flag and it was not the reason for the win. The Cowboys go for it on 4th and 6th and don't get it the game ends. The refs didn't lose the game the Lions did.
Reply Replywhich the refs admitted they missed a holding call against Dallas :-)... all I'm saying is they blew a call on what you deemed as the biggest play of the game
And what? Play over? What exactly could happen except for firing the REF or giving the LIONS the win.
Reply ReplyRef's mess up all the time and action is never taken. Just because it benefits the Cowboys doesn't mean they should be punished.
Reply ReplyThe ball hit the LB in the back, the ball was uncatchable. There was slight contact, but you can't ping an LB in the back and expect the ref to bail you out

Absolutely uncalled for for Bryant to come onto the field to argue a call of any type. Should have been flagged and thrown out of the game!
ReplyI can understand picking up the flag, but not calling Dez for running onto the field is awful. In the ref's face, too. Morelli should have announced why it was overturned, but also called Dez. We really need to see replay include all plays.
ReplyIf its in the book as illegal (coming onto the field without a helmet) it should be flagged regardless, not up to to the discretion of the ref.
ReplyBryant should have had a 15 yard penalty for even stepping on the field and yelling at the ref. Also, picking up a flag that's already been thrown for a clear pass interference call is a very unreasonably bad decision.
ReplyYes, refs should be punished for bad calls, this coming from a Cowboys fan,
Replycriminal.........
ReplyMost pathetic refereeing I've ever seen, and I'm nearly 60 years old. Not only should the call have stood, Dez gets called for running on the field. Also, DeMarco took his helmet off in the end zone. There were some questionable calls against the Cowboys too. The officiating crew was an embarrassment to the NFL. Take action!!
ReplyI have no problem with the refs picking up the flag. I even thought that it was a ridiculous penalty to begin with, but you don't just pick it up and move on. It seems like they created a new precedent by seeing the replay and changing the call.
ReplyThey needed to do something about the 2005 fixed superbowl also. That was the first fixed sporting event i have personally seen. It's pathetic for referees to ruin a game and a season for a team
ReplyMorelli even admited after the game he should have gotten the referees together rather than just listen to on official. Also the official he listened to was the line judge who is supposed to be watching for holding etc. on the line. Not looking into the backfield.
Replyeither refs incompetent or NFL corrupt... either way, game should be given to Detroit..... refs gave Cowgirls the game.. only question is incompetence or corruption and if so, who ordered NFL has no credibility with Goodell.... Cowboys are disgusting org.. this crap always seems to be for them
ReplyIt did not cost Detroit the game directly, but it was a huge momentum shifter.
ReplyThe picked up flag on PI and the missed hold on Suh completely changed the game. If Detroit goes down to score a touchdown, it changes the outcome.
ReplyIts only right man up for mistakes/cheating Det should get conditional picks from Dal for that
ReplyBlatant miss call on holding, with Head Linesman looking directly at play. No call on Dez Bryant for Unsportsmanlike conduct. You can argue the PI but the other two were obvious, and, made me feel that there was a home field bias.
ReplyThe players get fined for mistakes. The same should be true for referees.
ReplyIt isn't only the call reversal on the pass interference. The holding call on Levy at the line of scrimmage is not a penalty according to the...you guessed it..the rule book! When Bryant came on the field to argue the call he did not have a helmet on which is an automatic 15 yrd unsportsman like penalty, that is...according to the rule book! Back to the pass int. that was overturned, he actually committed every requiremnet for pass int...according to the rule book! Obviously the matchup wanted was dallas vs. green bay. Unbelievable abuse of power.
ReplyThey need to be held responsible. They should go back to having Ref squads do playoffs, not this grab bag crap. They should also go to full time Refs as well.
ReplyGames shouldn't be decided by referees incompetence. It should be decided by the field of play. This wasn't Morelli's first mistake while officiating. Time to do something about it.
ReplyTHE worst officiated game i've ever seen. Three blown calls on one play with a weak explanation only the day after the game. The Refs need to be held accountable when they make bad calls. Maybe its time to start docking their pay as well.
ReplyThat game as far as officiating was horrible. There were calls on both sides that were missed that were called during the regular season. If you call it during the regular season then it should be called during the post season. If that crew was officiating the Super Bowl and that crap happen to my team and it cost us the Super Bowl I would be extremely pissed off.
ReplyI am a Broncos fan. If it really was just gross collective incompetence (which I have a hard time accepting, knowing how much the League office wanted a Cowboys-Packers match up) I don't want the Morelli boys in Denver. ,
ReplyOfficial was completely influenced by crowd and intimidated by whiny Deziree Bryant. There was also defensive holding prior to the throw. The defensive holding, PI and unsportsmanlike conduct should all have been called. Detroit should have had the ball around the Dallas 15 yard line. Dallas won but certainly with the help of the referees.
ReplyThe crew missed a holding call then screwed up a PI flag. It's one thing to pick the flag up, but the way they mishandled the whole incident needs to be addressed. More broadly, the NFL needs to use the best crews from the regular season in big playoff games, not picking teams apart to create a group of officials that haven't worked together before.
