Studded tires should be outlawed! They cause millions of dollars in road damage. They are noisy on pavement and they do not work that well,I know I used to use them. Today we have new rubber compound snow tires that get softer and more grip in cold. weather. Outlaw studded tires!

Dumb question. There are winter tires that are approved that are not studded and don't create ruts on the roads. We've used them for about 20 years driving in all winter conditions including Bachelor Mtn, freezing rain on both sides of the mountains without issue. Our winter tires went on Monday.

It depends if I'm driving in the snow ,or not. I'm a retired trucker in western U.S.,Canda, an Alaska.

Winter is way too long. No spring to speak of - we have Sprinter. Love summer - without the smoke, of course.

My Dad wouldn't let me get my license until I mastered snow and ice in Woolworths parking lot on a Sunday, everything was closed.
