We already do. I wish some of our neighbors would do the same with their yard lights.

Doesn't matter what I do with my lights because one of the brightest, most poorly focused streetlights is right outside my bedroom, lighting up my home, my yard, and my neighbors homes like a crime scene. Shame on the city of bend.

The only light pollution at my house is the ultra bright city street lights. The city is the cause of light pollution.

People should not have to put up with annoying intrusive lights that inconsiderate neighbors install
ReplyBoard Member of DarkSky Oregon who worked on this with Deschutes County. Currently working to update the 24 year old City of Bend lighting ordinance.
ReplyI like seeing stars at night. and birds migration is important.
ReplyWe live across the street from a duplex that has one of those motion sensor lights on the garage. It's soooo bright it lights up my bedroom and my son's and our living room. Thats just ridiclous
