I would say that first it's because it's the one that's pushed more in the US. But I've also liked the stories of various Shonen anime. Especially when there's a good villain.

Cell Saga is quintessential DBZ. Gohan is my favorite character, so I’m probably a little biased. Overall, the storytelling was awesome, and it was very inclusive to the rest of the Z-fighters. My most rewatched saga for sure.
