The murals are a part of history! If we keep taking down/and or removing statue's and Murals why teach history in schools!!! This is getting totally out of hand!!

why take them down, it is history that needs to be seen and remembered the way it was and not the way they want you to see it, or not see it...

If the paintings are offensive, then you'd have to count George Caleb Bingham's famous Order Number 11 painting as offensive too.

Trying to sweep history under the door is no way to improve our Nation. The Boone County Commission is a failure.

Examining our past is SUPPOSED to feel uncomfortable. This is where the urge to grow and change comes from. It's the same sort of whitewashing of the past as the fake issue of Critical Race Theory.

If these paintings were painted today, there would be drive by shootings, tent cities on the sidewalks, and needles and human waste everywhere. We don't want the truth to be exposed. It might hurt someone's feelings.

Because the people in the painting are white not black.

I find the painting of famous Native American hunter pointing a rifle at a man preticuly racist.

Civic art need not be eternal, especially if it is meant to tell a story, as this art is. Time to support new artists and reconsider the impact of the visuals we choose for our public spaces.

We need to be reminded of the past and the progress made from those events. Proposals of this ilk simply appease those with personal agendas who feel they are more important than history itself. They feel they are more important than than the rest of us when in reality we are aware they are not.

History can be ugly, but removing the reality of it would be much worse! Denying history would translate to a repeat of it.

We should not be destroying history. It is important to see just how far we have come in so many ways. Those murals help demonstrate that.

You cannot erase history....those that do are doomed to repeat it.
