Fran McCaffery seems to be willing to adjust to the players he has. The team has continued to get better since he was hired when the program had hit rock bottom. Kirk Ferentz does not change anything, he just moves assistants around. The offense has been in a rut for too many years.

They are building teams that have talent inside and out. I actually like the 2016-2017 more than any of the prior Fran Mc teams. This group is very athletic and plays like it belongs, even though they are presently starting 4 freshmen. They don't rattle or panic and keep coming after you.

Much better head coach-better recruiter- better game day coach- will not settle for slightly above average.

I think it's pretty obvious but with 11 underclassmen on the roster the future looks bright. As long as Greg Davis is in town, I have no hope for the future of the football team.

Football success is mostly schedule and loghtening in a bottle situations. Bball steady rise in talent.

Its simple math really. Fran just has to recruit a couple stars, 3 good players, and the rest role players. Ferentz has to recruit 50+ players on both sides of the ball and develop them. Few football players come into the college game ready to immediately contribute, the same is not true for bb

very strong young team. Jordan Bohannon is the real deal at point guard

This one shouldnt even be close. Until the Iowa football program changes its offense up we are doomed. The defense is going to regress and wont be able to hold us in close games anymore

Much younger team with a coach who has proven he and his staff can develop talent. I think the young talent on the basketball team exceeds that of the football team as well. If Cook/Bohannon/Pemsl progress as expected, could be a deep March threat in the next few years. No such aspirations with FB.

Gives a chance for the biggest population base in the state to see all 4 of the state's D-1 basketball teams.

Because I live in Des Moines and it's an easy way to see two great basketball games that I wouldn't be able to see if they were true home games for any team.

I have friends that cheer for all four teams. Everyone gets to see their team play. We all get together and make a day out of it.

I think even if we can't manage a split in the big ten wins wise. I'd like to see us continue to grow, either way next year I'm not worried we have some amazing talent that just needs time. Plus bringing in at least one post player that may get some time first year will help.

This season is not about how they finish 2017. It is about how they finish 2018, 2019, and 2020. All of Pemsl, Bohannon, and Cook look like bona fide B1G players to build around for those years.

While poor recruiting has us in this mess, better recruiting leaves the future bright. Plus, the experience this young group is getting is invaluable. People need to realize that most of the 4 stars we are getting are good not great. Combined they have a lot of potential

They are young and have the potential to be pretty good. It is important to give them time to gel and get the schemes. I'm excited for the future!

The individual skill level of the players continues to increase, so as long as they gel as a team, the future is bright.

Other than the defense (which will eventually come together), this team is so fun to watch. Plus, Cook being injured actually helps to make the other guys step up. This team will be fun to watch for the next few seasons!

6 1/2 years in, Fran still has no discernable offensive strategy. He continues to recruit...well..."less-than-intense" players who get pushed around and seem to lack killer instinct. And point guard....yes, Fran, it's still an important position for most coaches. I've seen enough.
