Japanese superstar Shohei Ohtani looks impressive in spring workouts and is ready for the major leagues. He's the missing piece of the Angels' puzzle. He can pitch and hit, something that no one has done since Babe Ruth. At 23, Ohtani has his entire career ahead of him. Most guys his age spend two or three years in the minor leagues before coming up to The Show. The excitement is palpable and the Japanese phenom is good for baseball.

The Angels have a young superstar in Shohei Ohtani, but they can't mismanage him. He's going to pitch every six days and hit in the designated hitter spot when he's not pitching. That's crazy because it doubles the chances he could get hurt. What happens then? Baseball is a team sport and Ohtani needs the support of his team to take the Angels to the promised land. That's just not going to happen this year as the young man gets used to the major leagues.
