Mirai Nagasu deserves all the credit for becoming the first American to successfully land a triple axel in the Olympics. She's just the third to do it in the history of the sport. The move is incredibly hard and takes a lot of physical effort to do it. She was snubbed for the 2014 Winter Olympics, and at age 24 she trained her heart out to even have the opportunity to compete in South Korea.

Figure skaters work so hard every day that they make incredible moves seem routine. Olympic skaters always put in maximum effort to train. Mirai Nagasu is just one of many skaters who deserve credit for fantastic routines. Despite her nifty move, the U.S. women's figure skating team earned bronze medals instead of a silver or gold. At least the judges should have rewarded the team for Nagasu's efforts.
