America needs to fix its crumbling infrastructure, and this plan is the first major step in doing so. If passed by Congress, the federal government plans to match state and local funding for projects dealing with transportation, sewers, flood control and clean up of pollution. America needs to get its infrastructure in gear if it is to compete in terms of commerce and moving goods across the country. It's about time the United States fixes its crumbling roads and bridges.

Donald Trump broke a promise to Republicans to cut back on spending. This infrastructure plan probably doesn't pass because it's too expensive and Congress just passed major spending bills. The costs of the $1.5-trillion plan come from government cuts in other areas, and the Democrats don't like spending cuts. Trump should have focused on infrastructure when he first took office rather than trying to repeal Obamacare.
