Claim K-State didn't earn a share because of losing to KU, at the expense of giving up the "Nine Straight" claim.
KU's current streak of eight straight titles includes ones in 2005, 2006, and 2008. In those seasons, KU shared the title with other schools (Oklahoma in '05; Texas in '06 and '08). KU lost the tiebreaker to those schools all three times ... But fans still claim the Jayhawks won the Big 12 in those years.
