Our historical strengths can also be our future - KC is built on transportation, infrastructure, finance, and animal husbandry because we are/were a "cow town" and there's a lot to like about that.

Actualy, all the cows are gone to places like Dodge City and Hays, Kansas. Like it or not, it's our heritage, our legacy. If we try to change that to high tech only, we loose our real identity.

I've been puzzled for years why KC people are so defensive about who we are. I've lived lots of places and this is an awesome city that needs to embrace it's roots.

If we try to use the existing regs for Air BNB the model won't work and people will either drop it entirely or try to do things illegally.

It might not be the best solution, but it's better than v1.0. Innovative progress is a good thing.
