This is a tough question, with no easy answer. The debate of nurture vs nature is real. Kids copy their parents. They learn what their parents teach them. That being said, a flower always grows between the cracks on a sidewalk. Ungrateful parents can still end up with a grateful kid. Kids are in school and in the community. Somewhere along the line, they may find others who are grateful and like the feeling they get from gratefulness too.

Children often mimic the actions and behaviors of the their parents. If a parent is ungrateful, their children will most likely be ungrateful as well.
