Google believes that it is somehow the regulator for cyber-security, forcing many other companies to immediately plug holes in their systems before Google goes public with these issues. Not only is that ethically wrong, but Google has shown that it will often not alter it's deadline that it gives major competitors before releasing the information, even when they urgently request a simple week extension.

Major tech companies have a ethical obligation to protect user data and content in today's world. If companies won't step up to the plate, then Google should step in and force their hand.
