Never had a big budget for holidays or birthdays. We have too much stuff already so we concentrate on time together and a few useful thoughtful gifts, often hand-made.

Obviously, an article regarding Christmas, will not get many views in a blue city like Columbia.
On Christmas, my kids often just ask me for meaningful advice. They are in their fifties, and they have learned enough to know, that they can always learn more. We still give each other the benefits of our skills that we have acquired over the years. These gifts are priceless, and they last forever.

Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, believed to be the Son of God. The celebration focuses on the Incarnation, or God becoming human. You don't need money to celebrate that.
Nothing is ever going back to what it once was. You will continue to fall. You only have your contentment now.

I am a Ukrainian, and this saddens me deeply. People who were going to sleep the night of the first attacks were not expecting to be awoken to air raids. They did not expect their homes to be bombed and their neighbors to get shot just being outside. If we don't pay attention right now, then when???
