2023: 63 people were injured or killed in 38 school shootings. 2024: As of September 4, 2024, 49 people have been injured or killed in 23 school shootings. Although these numbers are horrible, they are miniscle numbers compared to the crime and drugs created by our unsecured border.

Or as Chicagoans like to say: "That's just Tuesday in Chicago."

Because you take the RSO's out of the schools not safe . And to many schools are not doing enough to prevent these things from happening.

Stop calling them schools. And no, they are never safe so long as they're tax funded.

Trump has destroyed every thing. Living in a median begging for money for my booze...but still have my phone and EBT card.

Amen, to that Eric. I know exactly how you feel, and what you are saying. A liberal's interpretation of Proverbs 22:9. Your satire is exquisite.

Never had a big budget for holidays or birthdays. We have too much stuff already so we concentrate on time together and a few useful thoughtful gifts, often hand-made.

Obviously, an article regarding Christmas, will not get many views in a blue city like Columbia.

On Christmas, my kids often just ask me for meaningful advice. They are in their fifties, and they have learned enough to know, that they can always learn more. We still give each other the benefits of our skills that we have acquired over the years. These gifts are priceless, and they last forever.

Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, believed to be the Son of God. The celebration focuses on the Incarnation, or God becoming human. You don't need money to celebrate that.
