School buses have never had seat belts. It would also make things less efficient with so many kids getting on and off.

I was in the business 30 yrs. The large buses are extremely safe. The seats are designed to be compartmentalized for safety. I can't imagine trying to get 84 kids out of a bus that caught on fire.

ReplyHave thought they should have seatbelts for years
ReplyPure and simple, seatbelts save lives!
ReplyIt helps Bus Drivers with discipline. Even though School Buses are the safest vehicles on the road by far.
ReplyHow stupid to not have seatbelts in school buses. For all the school bus accidents and rollovers you'd think this is a no brainer especially in this liberal state. Really, seriously?
ReplyShould have been required years ago!!!
ReplyEver since it was required by law for all vehicles to have seat belts, all buses should have had them installed too. I can't believe it's taken this long to get them installed! About time!
