How do you define an assault weapon? Guns that look scary? This call to ban assault weapons is just the first step towards a total gun confiscation. Fear the government that fears your gun!! The Democrats are just a few steps away from being full blown communists. Something is rotten folks!!

We can only hope and pray that our government does the right thing by banning these insane weapons. Nobody needs these.
Banning any type of gun is not going to help stop or keep any guns away from criminals or persons wanting to cause harm; it will only keep them away from our law abiding citizens

They are already banned. AR15s etc are NOT assault weapons. Educate yourselves before spewing forth inaccurate descriptions on the "news". And riddle me this.... If "gun control" and bans work, then why did the latest shooting occur in a place with strict gun control?

The guns are not killing people ! People are killing people and they always have and always will.I also believe that they get to much recognition for their murders . Like this guy he was a bully and a loaner .He probably wanted to be noticed!! The reasoning is unknown !!

Look to history to see what happens when the government disarms people, many examples of mass killings follow. It CAN happen here. When the liberals come for your guns, give them your bullets first. If you think it is time to bury/hide your guns, it is time to use them. Come and Take It.

You can't blame the gun it's the unstable moron behind it. I feel that if an assault rifle wants to be purchased then those who want it must complete and obtain a mental health evaluation by licensed mental health specialist.

Why does anyone NEED an assault rifle? To assault? To kill? No need at all for them. I'm all for a rifle and deer hunting. Having a handgun by your bed for defense. But an assault rifle is pointless.
But AR-15 rifles are not assault rifles. Citizen can own a fully automatic machine gun legally, but they must possess the required Federal Permit, which costs $200 per year. Knowledge is key.
First, assault weapon is an incorrect term, they are Armalite Rifles. Assault weapons are guns that can be selected to full automatic, the firearms in question can not do that. It is lies, smoke and mirrors to call these firearms, assault weapons. Adolf Hitler did the same thing in 1939.

When Germany enacted gun control, firearm deaths did decline but, Gas Chamber deaths increased to over 8 Million.

They are not useful for hunting, which means ownership of an assault weapon is only for collecting and showing off or to be used as a weapon.
