Should the U.S. government step in to regulate AI development?

I think it is wise to have some safeguards in place but we all know that having government involvement will go over board. Either we keep moving forward with technology or allow our adversaries the upper hand.

AI has to be regulated or you are accepting all the risks of human destruction.
