No they do not. I have proof but the last time I posted it here, it was removed. And not because it went against the rules here.

I was in naval aviation from 1966 to 1970 I spent time flying Vietnam. During that time, when you got out you avoided the subject It was not popular. The first time I ever got thanked for my service was 2012 and I didn't know how to react. I'm OK with that. I still don't know how to react.
ReplyWalking in the parade today with the Marine Corps League/Toys for Tots you hear SO many (Thank you for your service, Happy Veterans day etc!)
ReplyWhy would so many believe that they don't? If you want, make every day Veterans Day and volunteer for their benefit. The benefits that come with serving for the military are excellent, for life.
ReplyI agree with snowzone. I spent 1970 in Vietnam and 1971 in Germany, Army Aviation, helicopters. It wasn't advisable to bring up your service to our country in the 70's and 80's. That started to change after 9-11 and desert storm. Today I am thanked often. The first time brought tears to my eyes.
ReplyThank you for your service veterans
